Few things make us happier than spending our weekends doing exactly what we want to do. Whether you’re looking for a more laid-back vibe or are ready to stay out all night, New York City has it all! Not sure what to do this weekend? We have you covered.

EAT IT UP

SNAG FREE BOOZY SHERBET AT REFINERY ROOFTOP (8/17)

Tipsy Scoop is known for their boozy ice cream creations, and they’ve partnered with Refinery Rooftop to bring their newest concoction to you! The Piña Colada Strawberry Daiquiri Swirl is a sherbet spiked with Malibu Rum. Yes, Malibu! The first 50 guests to visit Refinery Rooftop on Friday will get the sherbet for free, and doors open at 5 p.m. And you can keep the party going with the fabulous cocktails the lounge offers, of course!

TASTE EVERY TYPE OF FOOD AT SMORGASBURG (8/18 and 8/19)

Get excited to eat the weekend away at Smorgasburg! Taking place in Williamsburg on Saturdays and Prospect Park on Sundays, you’ll never get bored of the food vendors. From elaborate entrees to delectable desserts, no one leaves with an empty stomach.

DRINK IT UP

TAKE THE CIDER IN LOVE COCKTAIL CLASS (8/17)

Let’s be honest: Unless you’re a bartender, you could probably use some tips on making incredible cocktails. Cider in Love is making it easy by offering a class on that very topic! For two hours, you’ll get to create four apple-inspired drinks made with craft ciders (perfect for fall, right?). There will also be pizza and other snacks throughout the night. If you can’t make it, there will also be a class on Tuesday, August 21. Get your ticket for the Friday or Tuesday class here and here!

SIP ON ONE OF JAPAN’S MOST POPULAR BEERS (8/15 to 8/17)

All the way from Japan, Asahi Super Dry beer is taking over P.S. Kitchen in Midtown. The pop-up experience will not only have plenty of Asahi and light bites, but there will also be a virtual reality experience that'll take guests through Tokyo skies. And don’t forget to be on the lookout for prizes throughout the evening. Stop by on Wednesday (7:30 to 11 p.m.), Thursday (5 to 11 p.m.), or Friday (5 p.m. to 12 a.m.)!

CELEBRATE PRETTY WOMAN ON BROADWAY WITH A THEMED COCKTAIL (8/16 to 9/16)

Pretty Woman opens on Broadway on August 16, and Ocean Prime New York on 52nd is celebrating! The restaurant is located just a few blocks away from the theater (convenient, we know), which makes it easy to grab “The Vivian” cocktail, an ode to Julia Roberts’ character in the 1990 film with Richard Gere. The drink is made with tequila, sour mix, raspberry liqueur, and orange liqueur, muddled with jalapeño, and topped with blackberries. Better yet, if you show your ticket stub from Pretty Woman, you’ll receive a free dessert!

TURN BRUNCH INTO A TOTAL PARTY AT TORO LOCO (Saturdays and Sundays)

Every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Toro Loco is the life of the Financial District! The Mexican restaurant takes brunch very seriously with yummy bites (go for the quesadilla callejeras), creative drinks (the margaritas are always a good idea), and live entertainment, from burlesque dancers to a DJ. Go from 12 to 2 p.m. every Saturday to experience the Mezcal Party Brunch, where the real fun takes place! Trust us, this is how you want to spend an afternoon.

SEE IT UP

ATTEND SHAKESPEARE IN THE PARK

It’s your last chance to see Shakespeare in the Park this summer! From July 17 to August 19, you can get free tickets for the play Twelfth Night. Performances are held at Delacorte Theater in Central Park at 8 p.m.

DO IT UP

ENJOY A PEDESTRIAN PARADISE DURING SUMMER STREETS (8/18)

Say goodbye to cars and cabs, and get ready to enjoy seven miles of pure pedestrian bliss. The final Summer Streets 2018 takes place on August 18 from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. You’ll be able to enjoy free activities like zip lining, rock climbing, art installations, and more. There are five rest stops, with additional activities like fitness classes and arts and crafts workshops. You can also just simply enjoy walking or running in the car-free environment. It’s a real treat in NYC!

DIVE INTO A HUGE MARSHMALLOW PIT AT CANDYTOPIA

First it was in Los Angeles, and now it’s made its way to the east coast. Candytopia is officially open in NYC! Just like many other pop-ups, this one has uniquely designed rooms — except this one is all about candy. If you have a sweet tooth, you’ll want to snag a ticket and enjoy the marshmallow pit and candy-filled rooms. Get a better idea of what it's all about in the video below!
